Sam’s Auto Repair was established in 1955 by Sam and Viola Loria as a cornerstone of the community. Originally, the business operated as a service station offering gas, convenience items, and automotive repairs. Over the years, Sam’s dedication to quality service and community values made it a trusted name in the neighborhood.

By the late 1970s, the shop began transitioning away from its gas and convenience offerings to focus solely on automotive repairs. This shift reflected the growing demand for high-quality, specialized auto repair services.

In 1984, after nearly three decades of hard work, Sam sold the business to Ken Papa, entrusting him to carry on the legacy of excellence. In 1993, Robert Stone joined Ken in ownership, further strengthening the shop’s reputation and operations.
Sam’s Auto Repair continued to serve the community with pride, maintaining its standing as a trusted and reliable business for automotive care.

A New Chapter with Elite Auto & Tire

In 2024, Sam’s Auto Repair was proudly acquired by Jamie Caldwell and Tyler Koch of Elite Motor Works. With this transition, the shop has been rebranded as Elite Auto & Tire.

Though the name has changed, the values and dedication that have defined the business for nearly 70 years remain firmly in place. Under the Elite Motor Works family of brands, we are committed to preserving the legacy built by Sam, Ken, and Robert, while introducing enhanced services and innovative solutions to meet the needs of today’s drivers.

For over 20 years, this shop was known as H3 Automotive & Performance Inc. — a trusted name in Bradenton for honest service and skilled workmanship. Founded in April 2005 by Jerry, Kathy, Erik, and Keith, H3 quickly became a staple in the community for reliable auto care.

In 2025, Erik passed the keys to Jamie and Tyler of Elite Auto & Tire, part of the Elite Motor Works family — a team of dedicated automotive professionals. Jamie and Tyler are honored to carry on the family’s legacy while bringing fresh energy and innovation to the shop.

Though the name has changed to Elite Auto & Tire – 53rd Ave. E. our core values remain the same. You’ll still be greeted by familiar faces — like Austin at the front desk — and the same trusted commitment to quality and customer care.
